Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan seems to have run out of topics to post on his blog. In his latest post Big B said that he had wished Shahrukh Khan on his birthday (November 2) through an SMS but he is still waiting for an acknowledgement. He further wrote wrote that it was pretty strange for Shahrukh not to reply him back.

amitabh wrote “Nov 2 was Shahrukh’s birthday and I may have been the very early wishers to him, but he still has not acknowledged. Mobile must have crashed with the number of wishes he had continued to receive throughout the day. Maybe I should send him a reminder. Most unlike him. I wished Gauri and him for their anniversary a few days back and they responded. But why not now!??”
The two giants of the Indian cinema who have starred together in movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Mohabbatein are always said to be in competition with each other. 2012 : a review . (the end of the world!) --- a visual granduer for real action lovers

There’s a reason to love Roland Emmerich’s latest destruct-o-picture, 2012 (no assembly required — just throw the pieces up in the air and voila ), but it’s not in the movie itself, which is an exploding turkey of epic proportions. However, if it is indeed true that actors like John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Woody Harrelson make the big popcorn blockbusters in order to afford to make smaller indie flicks, then Fox Searchlight should have an awfully big slate next year; 2012 probably just paid for two more Thomas McCarthy (The Visitor, The Station Agent) directorial efforts, in addition to picking up the tab on a year’s worth of Oliver Platt all-you-can-eat buffets.
Beyond that, there’s not a lot else positive to say for 2012 unless you enjoy having your senses assaulted, your brain liquefied, and your bowels throttled with bass. If that’s the case, you may walk out blind and stupid with a pant-full of your own defecate, but you’ll do so with a big dumb grin on your face, because for nearly a full two hours of the 158 minute run-time, nothing is safe from Emmerich’s CGI wrecking ball. The east coast, the west coast, China, Vegas, and the rest of this godforsaken Earth gets completely torched, tossed, shredded, and sliced like the wrists of a teenage Goth girl. Emmerich literally leaves no stone unturned — he yanks them out of the ground and smashes them into each other in a incoherent, aimless mass of overwrought, over-long, all-encompassing destructive atrociousness.
Nothing is left in the wake of that bull-dozing, either — not even a plot. Indeed, it’s an almost impossible movie to spoiler — the imminent destruction of the Earth is revealed early on, and the audience is left with nothing to do for the rest of the film except watch as the globe shits itself. The only narrative thread — fringed and weak as it is — involves whether an obscure underemployed author, Jackson Curtis (John Cusack), his two children, ex-wife (Amanda Peet) and her boyfriend (Thomas McCarthy) will make it to the Arks before the gates close and the tsunamis arrive — think National Lampoon’s Apocalypse (“Holiday Roooaaaad”). And if you don’t know how it ends the second you walk into the theater, you’ve clearly never seen an Emmerich film. Also, you’re kind of dumb, and I don’t think I want to be your friend.
There’s also a international operation to build Arks, and get the key figures of government into them before it’s too late. Oliver Platt’s Chief of Staff to Danny Glover’s POTUS and his daughter, Thandie Newton, steer the subplot into the abyss, along with Chiwetel Ejiofor’s geological scientist, who was the one who predicted the end of the world in the first place. Ejiofor is also the only guy in the movie worth paying much attention to — apparently, all of Cusack’s early-career magnetism rubbed off on Chiwetel, and, sadly, none of us were privy to that rub-down exchange (pants were not involved, I understand).
To be sure, there’s a lot of meaningless religious symbolism, too, as well as a few made-up sci-fi words to stick in the trailer to appeal to the sci-fi geeks who find J.J. Abrams too cerebral. Emmerich also pays a lot of lip service to the value of an individual life, even as we watch thousands of CGI people fall out of their office buildings and plunge into darkness. But it’s not their lives that matter — they are the faceless masses (like us, in the movie theater). What really matters is that John Cusack makes it to the end of the film, because he was Lloyd Dobler, dammit.
Actually, if Emmerich had stripped out the nods to sacrifice the overly-sentimental family bullshit storyline (complete with a token dog) — hell, if he’d just removed the dialogue all together — it might have been a morbidly amusing look at the complete extinction of the end of the world. It’s hard to find fault with the CGI, except for the overabundance of it, and it’s even rather beautiful in its own sick way — 2012 could have been an artistic exploration of humanity’s collective oh-shit face as the Earth crumbled in on itself. Instead, it’s a so-bad-it’s funny hootenanny that runs out of hoot about halfway through, leaving us exasperated, out of popcorn, and wishing that the rest of humanity would just die already so we could go home.

you gotta watch it if you are a die hard action movie fan and the rating is 4.95/5 and th 0.05 percent is deficient due to the longevity of the plot

Al-Qaeda's body bomb evades the aviation security

Paris, Oct 5 (DPA) Suicide bombers associated with Osama bin Laden’s Al Qaeda terrorist network have begun carrying bombs inside their bodies in the form of suppositories to circumvent strict security controls, the French daily Le Figaro reported Monday.
Citing information supplied by the newly formed French anti-terrorist service DCRI, the report highlighted a recent assassination attempt in Saudi Arabia in which the terrorist carried the bomb within his body.

“That is to say, it was undetectable,” a French interior ministry official said. “The suicide bomber had only to detonate it with his cellphone, which the palace guards did not have the presence of mind to remove.”

The target of the attack, Mohammed bin Nayef, the son of the Saudi interior minister, suffered only minor injuries.

However, the method used by the bomber has forced security officials to reconsider the controls used to prevent suicide bombings, particularly at airports.

“Our aviation controls are equipped with metal detectors, but in the case of the Saudi suicide bomber only an X-ray control would have detected the explosive,” a police official said.

But X-ray controls are not being considered for general use. For one thing, they are very expensive. There is also another consideration, that of health.

“It is simply unthinkable to put X-rays into general use for security controls, since we know how often some passengers fly,” an interior ministry official said. “The health risks of over-exposure to X-rays are too great.”

According to a police security expert, one solution would be to concentrate on finding the telephone that emits the signal for the explosion. That could mean that passengers may in future be forced to hand their cellphones to a stewardess on boarding.

He said Shahrukh is a ''global icon'' and many Americans loved his films.

''We are trying to ascertain the facts of the case--to understand what took place. Shahrukh Khan, the actor and global icon, is a very welcome guest in the United States. Many Americans love his films,'' the US Ambassador said.

The actor was allowed only one phone call during the period and was let off only after the intervention by Indian Embassy officials.

Incidentally, Shahrukh Khan’s upcoming releases include Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan which touches on the issue of racial profiling and discrimination faced by a certain minority community in a post-9/11 world.

If you are unaware of this site : youtaz , let me explain it to you.it's a site which pays it's users to be a part in a social network and uploading all sorts of things like pictures,videos,reviews,diggs,questions,polls and everything . all you can manage is 1$ if you work hard on that site.and the minimum payout is 50$. i am not joking , it's that kindaa site. and from 18 th august 2009 , the site is not funtioning and all the members got scammed. even if the site opens later, this will and is a scam site. i left the site long ago and advice verybody to get out of that site.it does not pay it's members. now i guess i did the right thing of leaving the site!
